Dr. Way Lau

Way is currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Special Education and Counselling (SEC) at the Education University of Hong Kong. Before joining SEC, Way completed his doctoral studies in biomedical sciences in the Department of Medicine and postdoctoral trainings in Departments of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Hong Kong. Way’s areas of expertise include molecular and system neurosciences, molecular biology, and psychobiology. His current research projects focus on interdisciplinary applications of biomedical science, psychometrics and neuroimaging to study stress and resilience in different populations. He is also keen on investigating the neuropathology of autistic spectrum disorders using multi-disciplinary approaches. Outside the laboratory and the university, Way dedicates his time to educate his four years old boy. He believes a balance among intellectual, physical, psychological, social, and spiritual capacities is important for the development of an individual, which should be handled with care early in life.
